Idol heats up

So I'm not really an Idol freak but the only free time I get to watch the tube coincides with the time slot that Q-TV has alotted for this singing competition. And for the first time ever, I was able to follow Season 8 right from its first episode. And I'm glad I did.

This American import has some of the quirkiest characters caught on celluloid and one girl clearly stands out among the rest. Her name is Tatiana del Toro, the Latina beauty whose zany personality could very well be her ticket to stardom. Of course, we already know that she didn't make it to the top 12 during the last elimination round but I can bet my cute ass that it won't be the last time we see Ms. T.

Really, she reminds me so much of Madonna back in her Like A Virgin years. Angelic face, bursting with ambition, comedic, etc. And she can definitely carry a tune better than Her Madgesty can. And I'm a Madonna fanatic!

Obviously, I was a bit disappointed--though not entirely surprised--when she failed to crack the third spot, which went to an early favorite Danny Gokey. I was looking forward to seeing more of Tatiana coz the other contestants are not giving me any reason not to flip channels. Sure they can sing but they lack that certain kind of "fire" rarely seen in celebrities today. Tatiana has it. Definitely.

Or maybe I'm just a fan and I'm sounding too partial. What the heck. I sooo love that girl. Go Tatiana!
