Last year, in October, I went to Tagaytay City with three close friends--Pamela, Rosie and Francis. We had a great time there, seeing the sights and just enjoying the cool climate, which was quite a nice break from the humidity of Manila. Tagaytay has a number of great points of interest, one of them being the 50-foot Virgin Mary statue at Tierra de Maria in Baranggay Sungay in the east end of the city.
As you can see from the photograph below, the centerpiece of Tierra de Maria is the gigantic statue. It could be very well be more than 50 feet judging from the way it towers above our heads. I think it adds to the place's serene atmosphere coz it makes us--ordinary mortals--humble and meek.
